Open Table has revealed the UK’s most romantic restaurants in the UK.
The restaurant booking service based their list on reviews left by diners in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
And the site has awarded the title of most romantic restaurant in Birmingham to Italian restaurant Cielo.
The Oozells Square eatery in Brindley Place is one of 50 UK restaurants which made the list.
Gushing reviews left on OpenTable for the restaurant included: “We celebrated our anniversary here and the food was to die for! A class service with beautiful decor, I’ll most definitely be back!”
Another bowled over reviewer said: “The food was outstanding, the service was excellent and very polite. The atmosphere was perfect not too noisy and not too quiet. Highly recommend. Me and my wife went for our wedding anniversary.”
A spokeswoman for OpenTable said: “OpenTable’s 50 Most Romantic Restaurants in the UK for 2019 list is generated solely from diner reviews collected in the past year. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration.
“The overall score is made up of unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the percentage of reviews for which “romantic” was selected as a special feature.”
Cielo has a rating of 4.0 on TripAdvisor and is rated #73 out of 1,963 restaurants in Birmingham.
